How We Serve Others

Embry Rucker Breakfast
CtK provides breakfast to Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston.

Youth Service Projects
CtK junior and senior high youth volunteered at Food for Neighbor's Red Bag Day benefiting 47 local middle and high schools.

Hearts for Heroes
Each year CtK assembles valentines and goody bags to go out to individual branches of the military to thank them for their service.

Palestinian Olive Oil
Partnering with 26 other congregations from seven denominations in the DMV through the Palestinian Olive Oil Ministry (OOM), CtK sells organic-certified olive oil and artisanal soap, tapenade, and za'atar from the West Bank.

Martha's Table
Each year we gather to make sandwiches to be delivered to Martha's Table, an organization in DC that distributes food to the needy.

Rwanda School Project
Christ the King Lutheran Church enjoys a fruitful partnership with the Rwanda School Project, a program that aims to equip Rwanda’s youth with the necessary skills and tools to develop into the next generation of skilled and compassionate leaders. As part of this collaboration, our congregation has "adopted" students in this school each year.

ELCA Good Gifts
Each December, we participate in the ELCA Good Gifts program through our donations to those in need in the U.S. and other countries.

Cornerstones Backpack Drive
Each year CtK provides backpacks to children in need at Cornerstones (Reston).
Our congregation is focused on helping serve those in need in our own community and across the world. Click a picture to explore our various service projects.
