Palm Sunday Worship and going forward

Sunday 10:15 a.m.in-person worship with communion will move outdoors beginning on Palm Sunday, March 28. We know that outdoor worship is not everyone’s cup of communion wine, but our hope is that those still cautious about indoor gathering will feel more comfortable under the tent. The risks of catching or spreading COVID-19 are greatly reduced when we’re outdoors, especially as we’ll continue to wear masks and practice physical distancing.

That means: no reservations are required and there will be singing!

Outdoor worship services will normally meet under the tent in front of the church, will last around 45 minutes, and will have a traditional tone. Our plan is to worship in-person outdoors throughout the summer, but the council will stay tuned in to Virginia and Fairfax County health guidelines and reassess the plan each month. There are a few picnic tables under the tent (6-8’ apart) but if you wish to control the distance between yourself and other worshipers, we encourage you to bring portable lawn chairs.

The cantata, whose English title would be something like: “Break bread (your bread) with those who are hungry” is inspired by Isaiah 58:7-8 and Hebrews 13:16.
